O imaginário fantástico de Tim Burton : exemplos de gótico moderno

A partir da análise de três obras cinematográficas realizadas por Tim Burton: Edward Scissorhands(1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999) e Big Fish (2003), o autor pretende chegar a algumas conclusões sobre a forma que o gótico assume nos final do século XX, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao cinema. O trabalho pretende descobrir na obra de Burton, as linhas fundamentais que definem a sua base fantástica e gótica, procurando ainda estabelecer alguma relação, de forma breve, destes géneros com o conto de fadas.

Taking as a starting point the analysis of three films directed by Tim Burton: Edward Scissorhands (1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999) and Big Fish (2003), the author tries to draw some conclusions on the shape that gothic style assumed on the late twentieth century, especially with regard to the cinema. The work aims to explore the work of Burton, the main lines that define his Gothic and Fantastic base and establish a relationship between these genres with the Fairy Tale.
